FSA Dance
Hello and welcome to FSA Dance!
FSA Dance has a rich tradition dating back from when the Filipino Student Association at UF was founded in 1986. FSA has showcased the beautiful traditional dances of the Philippines, and in addition, FSA has led the pack with its excellence and highly entertaining modern dances, second to none.
Leaders for FSA Dance ‘07-’08 are:
Head Choreographer - Rafael Yser
Cultural Directors:
Janel Buranday
Klara Cu
Kayla Gutierrez
Jenny Lapnawan
Below are updated information regarding Spring ‘08 Barrio and VISA FSA Dance:
Practices will be structured as follows:
-Audition pieces for each dance will be taught at least twice a week (Sunday and one weekday)
-Casting will occur the following Sunday.
SO, if you can’t make it to any teaching days, you must learn it from one of your fellow FSA dancers :)
-Each dance (except for Singkil) will then meet for practice at least twice a week with the other dances. However, Singkil will meet at least once a week on their own.
-One dance will be casted each week in the following order:
Singkil (week of Jan. 20)
co-ed Binasuan (week of Jan. 27)
co-ed Jota de Paragua (week of Feb. 4)
all female Kini-Kini (week of Feb 11)
all male Igorot dance (week of Feb 18) .
What does this mean? If you decide not to dance until later, you will most likely miss out on some dances that have already been casted. Just FYI :)
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Please don’t hesitate to contact Jenny Lapnawan, 352-328-6970, jennyq515@gmail.com
