Fil-Am History Month
Filipino American history month (Fil-Am month) is UF’s yearly cultural event held during the fall semester in October. Fil-Am month is geared towards enriching the student body at UF by showcasing Filipino customs and traditions as well as raising pertinent issues affecting Filipinos and Filipino Americans today.
Last year’s Fil-Am month was a success, with guest speaker Digno Sabio raising awareness on Filipino Veterans, a cook off showcasing the different dishes of the Philippines and Asia, and open mic performances. In turn, this year we are striving to make it better. For this year’s Fil-Am month, UFFSA will host dance workshops, martial arts workshops/demonstrations, game nights, guest speakers and performers and much much more!
