At the beginning of each year, FSA performs a large showcase called the Asian American Student Assembly, or AASA for short. It’s an event that the Asian American Student Union (AASU), the umbrella organization that FSA is directly under, hosts as a cultural variety show intended for the new freshmen and incoming students to UF. Attending the show will not only allow you to see what is offered from and within AASU, but it depicts what FSA has to offer! From the cultural costumes and pieces to the modern tracks of the contemporary, with these elements combined, you don’t want to miss one of FSA’s biggest performances of the year.

This year, AASA will be on Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts 6:30pm. You don’t want to miss this event!

And after the show, comes the after party~! Hosted by Post Dark Productions, the Krazy Phly Ladies, and Hourglass Entertainment, “Red Carpet SWAGGER” is the official AASA after party and will take place at the Vault Nightclub (238 West University Avenue) from 10:30pm-2:00am.

Ricky needs your Gator1 ID by Tuesday, August 24 so give it to him ASAP! If you don’t have time to give it to him by then, you can still join the block by going to Gate 13 on the east side of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. You need your Gator1 ID and the three letter block code: FSA. You have to swipe in between August 23rd – August 27th from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
